One female metro police officer has sustained injuries to her face and body after being attacked by an angry crowd outside a mall in Johannesburg on Sunday.

A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing the crowd yelling at the officers on duty. A scuffle later ensues where a man can be seen trying to punch a female officer in the face. Shortly after, a different female officer gets slapped by another man.
